SAMPLE LETTER

I am a Canadian citizen writing to you about my extreme concern regarding the Emergency Act invoked by the Trudeau government as a response to the Trucker's Convoy protest in Ottawa.

Wherever you stand on the issue of Covid-related restrictions, I urge you to look beyond that because the situation is now greater than that. It is about preserving our country as a democracy.

This is the time to stand for the greater good is for ALL Canadians, now and forevermore.

Please consider:

This act can only be invoked in extreme emergencies of National security, as I am sure you know. The situation must either endanger Canadians in a way that exceeds the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it or seriously threaten Canada as a country and cannot be dealt with by any other law.

The standards for invoking the act have not been met.

Accusations of extremism and violence are false. This can be proven by the fact that no arrests have been made, as they would have been if violence had been an issue.

Trudeau has not taken the first reasonable step in dealing with an issue such as this, to talk with the proponents. Instead he accused them of violence and extremism from the get-go. These statements have been amplified by the media without verifying for themselves if these statements were accurate.

By invoking the federal Emergencies Act in the complete absence of any reasonable justification, Justin Trudeau is setting a dangerous precedent that threatens the right of all Canadians to peaceful assembly and protest. This is the bedrock of democracy.

If this is allowed to pass, the freedoms of future generations of Canadians is jeopardized for all time. I am concerned about our country descending into tyranny.

I urge you to vote against this act and to save our country, our democracy and our freedom.

Yours Sincerely,
